But it's a little too big to leave on "display" and the charging cord is permanently attached (i.e. it won't look good on the counter/shelf). When charging, you don't know when to stop because the charging light won't ever go off...this is true w/ all of the vacuums...not just mine. The device also requires frequent charging...it can't run very long.

2007 UPDATE - THIS ITEM IS TERRIBLE DUE TO THE FREQUENT CHARGING REQUIRED. YOU CAN VACUUM FOR NO MORE THAN 3 OR 4 MINUTES BEFORE THE VACUUM DIES. IAM UPSET I CANNOT LOWER MY 4 STAR RATING :(

(More customer reviews)Somewhere between a heavy duty floor vac with attachments and a wet towel, lies the Scorpion.This niche ideally would be filled by the Dustbuster, but as others have lamented, Dustbuster like devices don't last long enough to really complete most jobs. Cleaning depends entirely on the size of the mess, so its difficult to predict how long a vacuum need be run.With a corded vacuum of small size, one can clean as long as needed, until the dust bin fills up.The trick is to get the right size and weight to make a corded vac as convenient as possible.

Dirt Devil has achieved that mix in the Scorpion.Its strong vac makes short work of cleaning, and carried by shoulder strap while using hose allows cleaning of most areas easily, and rarely is the crevice tool really needed.Its very good for cleaning tight places, especially cars.Cleaning a non-disposable dust bin is a mess with any vac, but can be done with less mess by pre-covering the filter with a sheet of kleenex before each run, then mopping up when needed with a disposable lint roller.

Constructed of good quality plastic, this vac is well worth its $20.

Simple, bagless, and the brush is belt-driven off the motor so it keeps turning even when picking up moderately heavy debris. I keep it near the cat's area for sweeping up excess litter and dry catfood chunks. This quickly brought the Dirt Devils' vacuum-driven brushes to a halt but not the Sidewinder, and the Sidewinder was less expensive.

(More customer reviews)I was a bit skeptical about buying this because it only has 3-3/5 volts of power.I had a B&D Dustbuster and it didn't have the power to pick up anymore.I was going to buy a new battery pack for it and found out that I couldn't replace the battery in it.That didn't set too well with me so I looked around for one that I could replace the battery in and I came across this little Eureka model.I have had a big Eureka upright for a long time and I also have a very old Eureka cannister model that still works great, so I know Eureka is good.But I wondered how much power it could have with only 3-3/5 volts.Well let me tell you, it has a lot of power, even more than the Dustbuster.I like the pop up crevice tool also, it's a very convenient feature.The dustbin is very easy to empty and it has a permanent filter that is washable so no extra filters to buy.The charging base is a little awkward.It would be better to have one that it slides into easier, but that's not a big drawback.If you want something to clean up little messes I can recommend this one.I use it all over the house and it's worked like a champ.It's great for those little messes in the kitchen (no liquids though) and also for stairs or the car.

(More customer reviews)After our quite old Eureka canister vacuum had finally gone belly up, we were looking for an appropriate replacement.Because this was needed primarily for cleaning hardwood floors, there were a few critical criteria.It had to be strong, yet compact in size.It should not be too loud, and the tool assortment should be appropriate for floors and vacuuming cat hair of various furniture items.Finally, we did not want to have to mess around with cleaning out bagless vacuum containers.The Eureka Mighty Mite 3670 came through with flying colors on all fronts.It produces a powerful vacuum, easily maneuverable, convenient for storing, the noise is not too bad, and a good price.This vacuum cleaner gives an excellent value, and, certainly, gets the job done that we bought it for.

(More customer reviews)This cordless vacuum cleaner (I LOVE cordless vacuum cleaners) has a lot of positives to recommend it. It does a great job for quick (dog hair) clean ups. Good suction. Good on the edges and area rugs. Easy to maneuver. Really gets under most furniture without argument or bumps, and even fits between the chair legs (in our house). The battery lasts. Feels substantial. Stores easily and out of the way.

A good machine.

But the dirt removal is a problem. Like most quick clean vacuums, there is way too much hand-to-gunk contact. But unlike machines that have some version of a cup that you can empty, this machine needs to be folded, lifted and held over the trash bin. And the weight that made the machine feel solid, is now awkward and unbalanced and makes emptying the dirt an aggravation. For some of us, this is a problem, even with our Wheaties.

Maybe placing the machine into a plastic grocery bag that's on the floor and then opening the dust bin to empty, and then reaching my hand in to pull out the two filters for cleaning? Is that the answer?

I don't know. If somehow the ease of cleaning out the dirt from the Hoover Linx could be combined with the ease of actually using the B&D Pivoting Floor Vacuum ("pivoting" because it folds in half), I would be wild happy.

(More customer reviews)This product does exactly what it was intended to do.It sucks up dust, dirt, and minor debris; and it does it well.The balance is perfect in your hand; the snout is fairly long for getting into tight places, it has powerful suction, the battery lasts long, the charger is first class and lets you know when it is done, the battery indicator lets you know how much longer you can use the vac before recharge, and it has a built-in brush.That merits 5 stars.

There are two minor cons that don't measure up to the 5-star level. When the brush is rotated and slid/snapped out into working position, it does not stayed extended out if you push hard on the surface being vacuumed.But, I don't think the designers intended that you use the brush to vacuum a carpet.It does work very well on computer keyboards, my cordless phone charging station, the back of my computer, and the nooks and crannies on my car dashboard. What I now do is to wrap a wide rubber band around the extended nozzle, just behind the brush. That works perfectly.The brush does not slide back from operating position, and I can do my whole car very successfully with no brush problems.

The second con is that when emptying the vac, the cannister rotates stiffly, so I hold the handle between my knees and use both hands to rotate the cannister to remove it. I suspect that after I empty the vac a number of times it will start to loosen a little, and it will be a one-hand job.

Every time I use this vacuum cleaner, the thought goes through my mind that Hoover must have assigned their most experienced product engineer to design it.The switch is in the perfect position. The perfect balance makes the unit feel light. The nozzle end just wants to hang down to the right position where you will be cleaning. You can see how much you have sucked up and when it is time to empty. The more expensive lithium ion battery charges quickly and does a lot of cleaning before becoming discharged.

If you can afford it, buy. You will not be disappointed.

(More customer reviews)This little sucker is unbelievable. The power is fantastic, the torque from the motor actually makes the vacuum jump in your hand when you flip theon switch.

I have a couch in my basement that is the favorite place for my two cats to sleep. The couch had so much hair on it that the couch looked grey instead of purple. I spent 5 minutes with the pet hair eraser and the couch was literally hair free.The rubber attachment on the front works way better than motorized brushes that quickly clog with hair.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it is a little loud, but I guess with power comes a little extra noise.I love this little vac, why pay all that money for a Dyson when this little guy works great!

Edit: The one and only thing I don't like about the vac is the way the air coming out of the unit sometimes blows the hair into the air if you're not careful how you position the machine while you use it.Although considering how much air this little baby moves and the small size of the unit I'm not sure what could be done to avoid this.

Having had this unit now for just over two years I still say its an amazing machine and I use it quite often.Its still going strong, no problems.
