(More customer reviews)I wanted to get rid of my Stihl gas-powered blower (took too much maintenance), and thought this might do the trick. Boy, it sure does! I plugged in a 100-foot heavy-duty extension cord (it comes without a cord, which is great--you plug an extension cord directly into the back) and turned it on and was surprised by its power. A very strong stream of air blasted the oak leaves hither and yon. It is light, so you won't get tired lugging it around, and it doesn't deafen you or burn you with exhaust gasses and doesn't pour out vile blue oily smoke like a gas blower. Also you don't have to drain the fuel and run the carburetor dry for storage. Well worth the money.

(More customer reviews)No assembly is required with this blower. Simply take it out of the box and slide on one piece and you are ready to fill it with fuel and get started. It takes a mix of 2 cycle oil and gasoline. The first time I started mine it took about 7-8 pulls and now it usually starts after 1-2 pulls.

When you have it on full throttle this thing really blows. It has plenty of power for average home use and would probably be good enough for commercial use in my opinion. It has a speed adjustment that is nice so you can adjust to suit your needs or you can let it idle when you are carrying it from one location to another. It also has spring loaded handle that does a good job of reducing the vibration so your hands don't get that numb feeling from the vibration. It only weighs about 8 lbs. and it is comfortable to carry around.

I am very happy with this purchase!!!

(More customer reviews)After reading all the reviews I decided to take a chance with a reconditioned Ryobi blower. Why? Ryobi gas engines are some of the best in the business, bar none.I had one that was 20 years old.It only stopped working because one of the plastic gas lines deteriorated due to age. Other than that, the engine still ran strong.

The reconditioned unit arrived with all new attachments.The engine looked in new condition.No sign or smell of gas in the gas tank.The only downside was the casing was dirty and scratched on the bottom.This is a nit after a season of blowing grass clippings and leaves.

The engine kicked in with about 3 pulls the first time. One pull is all it took after the first start out of the box.

Hard to beat the price and value of this blower with an outstanding and relible reputation of the Ryobi gas engine.

(More customer reviews)This blower is an excellent addition to Makita's LXT lineup of tools.Like all of the LXT tools, the blower is quite powerful, very rugged, lightweight and well thought out.Its small size and very light weight make it all the more useful and portable.It performs the shop duties of an air blow gun without the need of a compressor and hoses.The variable speed function is invaluable from heavy volume in cleaning out the buildup of dust and chips in tablesaws and planers, to the light "dusting off" needed on shelving and drawers (without blowing away the contents).It is equally as impressive on a job site as in the shop.The ability to clean off all the dust on your clothing from working around heavy sawdust, drywall dust etc. - this alone makes the blower a must have.

It would be hard to justify the purchase of this if it were to be the only LXT tool one were buying, given the fact that a charger and battery together will run $100+.But for someone with other LXT tools, already having a charger and batteries, this is definitely a worthwhile investment.The nozzle of the blower (the long black tube) is made of heavy rubber and detaches with a simple twist.This flexible nozzle can readily be flexed (bent) to point the blower into hard to reach areas.The simple "twist to remove" breaks the blower down to ultimate portability.It would almost fit in a toolbox!LXT batteries give it plenty of power and runtime;much more than one would anticipate from a battery powered device.

As far as the vacuum functionality, the nozzle is simply removed from the blower port and twisted onto the air intake port.Then a collection bag (not supplied with blower) is attached to the output to collect the vacuumed debris.However, I found this configuration to be too awkward to be really useful.I did purchase a bag, approx. $16, from a tool supply house, but am not impressed with transformingthis into a vacuum.It would do in a pinch, but certainly not something I could make a habit of.The cloth bag is identical to one found on a Makita belt sander, plate joiner or similar device.If you want one, do an internet search for Makita #122321-1;that is the part number of the dust collection bag. Better yet, Makita has just introduced a new 18v LXT vacuum, quite similar to a dustbuster;the Makita BCL180ZW.I don't have one yet, but am ordering one.It should prove to be another "must have" addition to the LXT tool bag.

For heavy yard usage and constant leaf blowing, a larger electric or gas blower would be more appropriate.But for the other 90% of the time where a portable blower would fit the bill, this Makita is as handy as a shirt pocket.

(More customer reviews)I bought this blower to replace a 3 yr old weed eater gas blower that was getting really difficult to start. When this blower arrived it was in "like new" condition except that it was not in original packaging. It appears to be very solidly built and well designed. I filled it up with gas, primed it and it started on the second pull. The pull cord is super easy to pull, unlike my old weed eater. The blowing power is strong but not overwhelming, and the engine runs really quietly. I also like the variable speed feature - something my old blower did not have. I have not tried the vacuum feature, but all of the parts are included, including the bag. Overall I am very pleased as this blower is much nicer, quieter, and easier to start than my old weed eater blower.

(More customer reviews)I found this unit to be great for light duty and especially blowing out leaves and grass that get blown into my garage. I'm in a wooded area and there are lots of small twigs on my driveway that can be blown off with this blower but I do have to get much closer and it takes longer than my gas blower. The battery is real good for about the first 10 minutes and then it starts to drop noticeably.I have several batteries so I don't have to be too concerned about running out of power. It is convenient because of its light weight and cordless feature.
