(More customer reviews)I bought this at Lowes Home Improvement for 9.97 - it's their regular price. The handle pieces do come out but don't despair! I had some carpet tape (double-sided) lying around and wrapped only a small piece around each end before I put it back together. It works like a charm. For how long, I don't know, but for the price I paid and how well it works otherwise, it will be worth investing in another role of tape in about a hundred years or so.
I can't drag the vacuum out all the time, don't want to and besides the dogs go nuts. This works as well as the carpet sweeper I remember pushing around as a little girl so I gave it an extra star for nostalgia. Gets all crumbs (don't expect it to get ground in dog hair) and gets all lint & small things you'd normally drag out the Hoover for. And No electricty needed!! If you miss the sound however, you can always hum!

Dirt Devil Swift Stick Review

(More customer reviews)Bottom line ... this is a great little machine that does the work it's meant to do.I used this machine for a solid 45 minutes while vacuuming two entire floors of my home - including stairs - one of the best parts was that this machine did not over-heat as with other 'bagless' vacuums I've purchased in the recent past (which were put out into the garbage!).

I could see that the vacuum was performing from the dust and debris that was entering the dirt cup.My home has all hardwood floors with a "mud" throw at the various entrances.The vacuum works great on hardwood surfaces and also did a nice job on the thin non-slip entrance rugs.Assmebly was a snap ... literally.The vacuum is VERY lightweight which is a big plus in preventing scratches on hardwood.This vacuum also has a very quiet motor - you can actually hear the phone and/or doorbell while you're running the vacuum!

Although I'm happy with my purchase and believe this is a great little machine, I do have a couple of "CONS" but nothing that would have made me change my mind in purchasing this item had I known ahead of time about them ... (1) the cord is very short, but hey ... that's what extension cords are for, and (2) I was used to having that little 'hang-up' hole on the vacuum handle to be able to suspend the vacuum on a utility rack - this vacuum does not have that feature.I improvised and added a little leather luggage strap around the handle, and solved that 'dilemna'.Great little vacuum and a great little price!

(More customer reviews)I just bought this today so I cant tell you how wonderful it still works after many uses but I can tell you that it worked absolutely wonderfully on my very yuckie, dirty, Cheerio crumb infested (toddler in the house) kitchen floor. I will never use a broom and dust pan again. Well, maybe the broom, but only to quickly sweep the stuff the Shark can't reach under the lower cupboards (we live in an old apt which may have something to do with that). Not a big deal. I just swept it into the middle of the floor and then sucked it all right up with the Shark. It picks up much more than the broom/dust pan method, even better than my Hoover on the "hard floor" setting! It made mopping the old fashioned not so "yuckie." Now Im starting to eye the steam mops. Here's to no more getting on my hands and knees to clean the floors!

I also tried it out on the carpet (more crumbs!) and it worked the same. Great! This product obviously wont replace your regular vacuum, but for quick, light clean ups, and for "pre-mopping" vacuuming it does the job very well.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this item knowing full well that I was taking a risk. What if it was NOT as grand as the infomercial made it out to be? Still, I'm somewhat limited physically (I'm an old bird, ok?) and I liked the idea of something lightweight to keep up with the little everyday messes at home. I share my home with two Chihuahuas and two cats. Enough said. Oh, and I live on a mountain...so "stuff" gets tracked in frequently.

This sweeper is phenomenal. I charged it up the day it arrived. After nearly two weeks of everyday use, and asking a LOT of it (cat litter, dog hair, lint, and some nails that got spilled long ago...) I find it is amazing for its size and weight. I have yet to re-charge the battery; it's still going strong. It goes everywhere, and sucks up everything effortlessly. I also love the little cleaning tool that came with it. I use it on my "regular" vacuum as well, to untangle the cat hair and such...why the big vac manufacturers haven't thought of this I don't know.

At any rate, this item is a winner. I have recommended it to everyone I know, particularly those who have pets. It's not perfect for heavy duty carpet cleaning, but on the other hand, I did use it to clean up my dogs' fleece bed after they crunched up a dry leaf all over it...guess what...it grumbled a bit, but it cleaned everything up. The easy empty feature is worth a lot to me too; and as I have arthritis, I appreciate not having to bend and crawl under furniture to sweep up.

(More customer reviews)I ordered my filters and they were shipped from Promax.After doing more research in my area I found the filters about half the price at my local Target store.I posted a review on Amazon stating that I was upset that I had paid more from Amazon/Promax and that even tho I would continue to buy from Amazon, I would not order from Promax again.I received my order and posted my review.I then received 3 phone calls and two e-mails from Promax wanting to know what they could do to resolve my opinion -- David actually told me they "lived and died" by their reviews and asked me to please take down my negative review and they would do whatever they could to make me happy.I was out of town, however, I took my review down on 4/24 and called the company back today, 4/27, to tell them I had taken the review down. Promax rep David, on speaker phone, ask me what price I had bought the same item from from Target, would he be able to go online and verify the price, that he would not refund my shipping, he actually said I knew how much I was paying for the item when I hit "send" on my order, and there was no way they would refund my shipping--I should know that I had to pay shipping when I buy something.Needless to say, I am now extremely unhappy with this whole Promax experience.When they wanted me to take down my review they were absolutely wonderful; after I took down my review I was the idiot.I told them not to worry about any type of refund, to expect my negative review back online.

I would hope anyone out there would run as fast as they could from this company.In this day and age customer service is a must for any business.This company is AWFUL.As I stated before -- I will continue to buy from Amazon, but if what I need is only available from Promax--I will do without.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this handy sweeper from Sears because I wanted something to pick up after the kids and our pets without having to lug the big vacuum out all the time just to clean up small messes.I was initially skeptical at first, but I knew I would be able to return it to Sears if I wasn't entirely satisfied.The setup and assembly was very quick.Just screw the wands together, attach it to the base, then charge it up.The first charge needs a full 16 hours to condition the batteries, thereafter the unit only needs 12 hours to recharge.I couldn't believe what this thing picked up. Everything from cat hair, litter, crumbs, and just about everything else that manages to find its way to the floor and carpet.Of course, sweepers aren't meant for big, hefty jobs, or for deep cleaning your carpets(this is a job for your vacuum), but they sure come in handy for in-between cleanups of small spills and messes. However, it's important to remember that sweepers are *NOT* vacuums.They have NO suction.They are designed to "sweep" the surface of your carpet and floors for quick, light pick-ups.That being said, I've been completely let down by Dustbusters and all those other "handvacs" that really didn't do anything but make a bunch of noise and lose their power after about 10 minutes of use.After using this, I figure I should only need to thoroughly vacuum once or twice a week now, instead of the usual everyday vacuuming that I used to do...

Bissell has designed a real winner here.I'm just curious to see how long the unit and the batteries will last.For some reason, they're still using old NiCad technology here, which is famous for developing the "memory effect" that renders them all but useless after about a year or so. The manual also says the batteries are NOT replaceable and must be disposed of when the unit has reached its useful life... The sweeper has a one(1)year warranty, so we'll see how that works out.For now, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase, and would recommend this to anyone who needs a sweeper or simply wants a quick fix for lugging the main vacuum out all the time.Excellent product!

(More customer reviews)I'd like to give 3 and a half stars, but since I don't have the option, I put 3.This product isn't bad - it is a good way to give a quick touch up on our tile floors.It's definitely less work than a broom, but is not quite as effective as I had hoped. We have a fairly large tiled area, and with 3 people (including 1 teenager) and 3 cats, there's a lot of dust, hair and crumbs on the floor.The sweeper did okay with the dust and hair, but the vacuum is only so-so on what it picks up.It would not pick up kitty kibble crumbs, for instance.A whole piece of cereal will not get vacuumed up, while a crushed piece of cereal probably will.The key to this product is to use it often - if the floor gets too dirty, it's too much for this product to handle. But for quick every day maintenance, it beats getting out the broom for sure.
